Ajani is a trust to educate impoverished girls about basic techniques of self defense.
'Ajani' originates from Sanskrit and means 'one who fights for what is rightfully her's/his'.
Safety
During self-defence sessions, one is taught how to take advantage of the situation and escape from an attack in the fastest way possible. Surprise is the number one self-defence, as very few attackers expect a woman to be able to taken them down. It always helps to have a simple defence weapon (for example, a pepper spray). These are small, easy to conceal, and can be kept in the purse for easy access.
Confidence, sensitivity, concentration
Regular practice of karate and self-defence helps us to become more aware of our surroundings, sense danger, trust our gut feel and be ready to protect ourselves in an unexpected situation. This naturally leads to increase in confidence, concentration and intuition. You learn to automatically respond effectively when in a 'fight or flight' situation.
Exercise and Stress Relief
This is a fun way to get in shape while learning to defend yourself at the same time. Karate techniques lead to improved balance and coordination, flexibility, strength and stamina. Engaging in self-defence training is a great way to destress yourself.
